Michael Izen, B.A. (Hons.), M.P.A.

— President

Michael Izen brings over twenty years of experience with business and labour market development to his role as President at Izen Consulting. Since founding the company in 2001, Michael has specialized in developing, executing, and evaluating employment and training programs for clients such as the Industry Training Authority, the BC Construction Association, and Aboriginal Skills Group 3G.

Michael also brings experience with the BC Government in Victoria, designing and managing a suite of highly successful youth business development and employment programs. He is a former Communications and Policy Advisor to the Premier’s Youth Office and Ministry of Advanced Education. His work with Youth Options BC resulted in two Gold Medal Public Service Awards..


Jordan Watters, B.A. (Hons.), M.A.

— Research Director

Jordan Watters specializes in economic development strategies and labour market intelligence. Her expertise lies in industry and community engagement, and occupational projections. Jordan designs, administers, and manages large-scale surveys and conducts in-depth interviews within various sectors. She prides herself in her ability to meet and often exceed response rate targets, ensuring the high-level of stakeholder engagement that creates consistently strong validity in research results

Yvonne Muir, B.A., CELTA 

— Education Director

Yvonne works with Izen Consulting as an education and technical training consultant and researcher, specializing in stakeholder engagement and management. She started on her career path as a teacher, amassing nearly 20 years of classroom experience both locally and internationally. As the ESL Department Coordinator for Alexander College, she developed, implemented, and monitored a mentoring program to offer support to new teachers. She has been a certified Canadian Language Benchmark assessor since 2008.


Susan Broatch

— Research / Editing / Financial Management

Susan’s passion for detail led her to a multi-industry career in bookkeeping and database design/management. For eight years she was head of the Distribution Department at the Vancouver International Film Festival. She has also done professional Genealogical Research. At Izen Consulting, Susan has the final eye on detail, ensuring our products are seamlessly crafted and consistently organized.
